Labelled by Colgate as ‘One of the most notable technological advances in dentistry’ teeth implants offer an excellent alternative for those who have lost a tooth (or teeth) to disease or injury.
But what exactly are Teeth Implants?
What Are Teeth Implants?
A dental implant is the most successful treatment available for replacing a single or multiple missing teeth. They can also be used to retain a loose dentures too.
A dental implant is a medical grade titanium screw that is placed into the jawbone. It then serves as a replacement for the missing tooth root.
The procedure to place a dental implant is painless and is completed under a local anaesthetic at our Cotton Tree practice.
Once the implant has integrated with the bone in a process called osseointegration an abutment is screwed into the implant. After this a porcelain crown, bridge or denture is attached.
